Upholstery Cleaning Tavistock - Halls Premier Carpet Care.
Updated: May 7, 2020
Whether you call it upholstery cleaning, sofa cleaning, chair cleaning or settee cleaning, fabric upholstered furniture requires a lot of care and attention. When it comes to maintenance and cleaning of fabric furniture, time and expertise is required in order to complete the task in hand properly. If an operative says they can clean a three piece suite in an hour or less they will not be doing the work correctly or taking the best care of your furnishings.
Time is Money and You Get What You Pay For
We are often asked to quote for upholstery cleaning over the phone, which is very difficult. It is much the same as asking how much will it cost to paint your lounge or cut your grass. Each job is different and as such, every price is different.
In our experience, if you are given a fixed price over the phone which sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
One of two things is likely to happen. Either the operative will work to that price - if they've priced it low, they will need to be in and out quickly and simply will not have the time to do the work properly. Alternatively, they could well try to increase the price when they arrive at the property or after they have started the work. This is called upselling or bait and switch if it's intentional.
Fair Pricing and a Quotation in Writing
When asked to quote for upholstery cleaning we will usually recommend we visit to carry out a survey on your furnishings. We will need to carry out a few tests so we know what we are cleaning, what the soiling properties are, so we can determine the most suitable method of cleaning.
We will also test the construction, dye stability and identify if there is a shrinkage indication. We will fully discuss your requirement and will advise you of the most suitable cleaning method. We will also confirm the expected results we will be able to achieve. Once we know what we are cleaning and how we are going to clean it, we will happily supply a written quote. You will know then exactly what we will be doing, the cost, the length of time it will take to clean, the likely drying time and as above, the expected results.
An Ecologically Balanced Point of View
The cleaning and maintenance industry has seen many changes in the 35 years I've had the pleasure to be a part of. One of the main changes I have embraced is a shift to the use of ecological based green cleaning solutions.
Not only are these products incredibly safe to use, but the results we achieve are simply phenomenal.
At the core of our business is a desire to use products which are safe for children, pets and adults (including me). These solutions are detergent, enzyme and phosphate free, contain no harsh chemicals and fully bio-degrade within a couple of weeks. When you combine the green credentials of these products with the fact they clean at a micro molecular level it really is a win win solution.
Protection for Complete Peace of Mind
Another service we are pleased to offer is fabric protection. If your fabric furniture has just been cleaned or is brand new, it may be the ideal time to apply a fabric protector. In common with cleaning, we will need to visit so a test can be undertaken and we can ascertain the ideal protection product to apply.
If your furniture has been protected previously, we can re-apply protector to keep your furniture looking it's best for longer. If your furniture has been protected before, our cleaning process will not remove any protection left in the fabric. Fabric protector applied after manufacture will have a limited time of effectiveness. We can advise you in more detail on this. For more information click here.
Perfect Care Going Forward for Your Furniture
Another option we are pleased to offer is the Perfect Care Maintenance Plan for your furnishings. We will work out a schedule of cleaning, maintenance and protection with you. There is an initial cost, followed by a regular smaller payment, usually monthly on a contract.
This way, we can keep your furnishings looking their best and the cost and schedule for cleaning is budgeted for instead of paying for everything at once. This is in the same way a servicing agreement would apply to a household item, such as a gas boiler. Another comparable example would be the well known benefits of having a car serviced regularly.
Other benefits are the work is carried out at a frequency recommended by the manufacturer and importantly, your furniture will last longer and will look at it's best during it's years of service.
We usually invest a lot of money on our home furnishing items. It makes perfect sense to look after our investments.
So, a short introduction into the upholstery cleaning service we are pleased to offer in the Tavistock area. We always find it best to come and see a customer. This a free, no obligation service and we get to meet you, you can meet us and we can fully understand your individual requirement.
It's also the best way as we can ensure our pricing is correct as each job is as individual as each customer.
It's fair to say that I won't be the cheapest upholstery cleaner in town, but then I'm not prepared to drop my standards or workmanship in order to be the cheapest.
As I mentioned above, to be the cheapest would mean I would be unable to complete the work to the standard you and I both expect and you deserve.
